NOTD 85 – Royal Highness

Happy Monday Morning!!! Sorry, I tried. I know that Mondays suck, trust me! But fret not I have something to cheer you up, at least it cheered me up. This is one of those manis that I just can’t stop looking at. 😀 With the OPI – Skyfall collection hitting recently, the newest buzz among the Blogosphere has been “The Man with the Golden Gun 18k Gold Topper” I think it’s gorgeous, but I just can’t see spending $35 on one polish, it’s just not worth it to me. I did a little research and saw that just like any new trend, other brands have come out with their own. There is OPI’s of course, then Sephora, Jessica, and even some indie brands. I picked up the Jessica one for $13.99 free shipping on Amazon, which compared to the other brands and their prices, is a steal.

I tried the “Jessica 18k gold topper” on a couple of bases but ended up with using  “e.l.f. – Royal Purple” hence the title, I just feel very Royal with these nails.. lol

  1. Your nails look fabulous! i have heard that there was a James Bond line coming out, but haven’t seen any. Is that what the $35 polish is from? I don’t blame you for not wanting to spend that kind of money on polish. I do like your alternative. The gold flecks look awesome on that purple. I will have to add that to my list of products to get the next time I visit Ulta.

    • Thanks!! Yes that’s the James Bond line that had come out, there was a special one called the Man with the Golden gun, separate special box and everything and most places were $30-25. The sephora one was about the same. Thanks so much Ginny! 😀

  3. It is lovely but I definitely could not justify spending 35 bucks on a nail polish!

    As much as I love a good topcoat, I think I’ll probably give this one a miss. As gorgeous as it is, its not very me!

  8. This looks awesome! I mostly like the look of the gold leaf toppers but you will never find me spending 30 bucks on a polish! 13.99 isn’t bad though, especially w shipping. 🙂 I think I’ll have to stick w doing a gold foil Saran Wrap mani when I feel like having this look. I sure like looking at yours tho! 🙂
