TLR Snowflake nails

I know, I know, I’m late posting again.. ugh lol I thought I would have more time but I didn’t. With the Holidays coming, as most of you know this is the busiest time of the year. I missed out on Red glitter and yesterday was snowflake. Surprise! I mixed them together! lol

This is China Glaze’s Ruby Slippers. I also stamped snowflakes using both China Glaze white and Essie’s No Place Like Chrome.

The Lacquer Ring – Cream

193

Whoa, three posts to the blog now…  I told you I was going to try to post more often!   Today’s prompt for #TLR is Cream. I only have a handful of neutral colors so this was hard for me.  I asked the girls if I could get away with Cream finish’s and they said no! whomp whomp! lol  In any event with the help from the group they helped me choose Nubar’s Spirit Walker.  It’s funny because when I first started blogging and I was following Cynthia, She posted this color and I fell in love with it!

I present to you Nubar’s Spirit Walker with some gradient tips using Sally Hansen’s Forbidden Fudge! I didn’t like my nails just plain neutral so I had to add a little something without taking from how gorgeous this neutral is on its own.  Spirit Walker has a tint of like a pink shimmer so I thought it would pair nicely with the shimmer from Forbidden Fudge.  Although I didn’t want to do the neutral on it’s own I can’t say that I love the way the mani ended up either :/  It doesn’t help that I am still sour that I had a break and they are nubs again 😦

IMG_7638With that being said, since I didn’t love it, you only get one picture lol.  Isn’t Spirit Walker such a gorgeous neutral though! Can you see the hints of pink shimmer?

Don’t forget to check out the other TLR girls, let’s see what they came up with!  Also with the upcoming Holiday, be sure to check back NEXT week (not two weeks from now like normal) for the other November TLR Prompt

Finally, be sure you are following me on Instagram, or on Facebook for other updates or looks you might have missed in my absence of the blog.

I will also be adding lots more polishes to my blog sale up on Storenvy! Check that out!

The Lacquer Ring – Aztec Nails

Hey there, long time no see. I have a whole folder of un-shown looks for you. Today we delayed our TLR looks from Thursday to now. In honor of Jess whose too busy for us hehe just kidding she works A LOT we did these nails for her this month. 🙂

First I painted Morgan Taylor My Carriage awaits. Once dry I used striping tape and did opposite triangles and filled it in with China Glaze Too Yacht to Handle. Once super dry I did my Aztec stamp using the triangle the opposite side using MoYou’s Pro Collection-02

71pu8K01jvL__SL1336_I then decided I felt like my look needed to be matte, I used OPI’s matte top coat and waited like 975283798273489 hours for it to dry. LOL Does anyone else have this problem? What I did as a trick, and maybe everyone already knows about this, I did a thin layer of my Seche Vite as that is lightening fast, and in about ten minutes just to be sure I used the matte topper. I went to bed about a half hour later and it worked! no sheet marks like every other time I’ve used matte yay!

Here’s my take on Aztec nails, whatdya think?

Well there ya have em, what do you think of my Aztec nails?

Don’t forget to check out the other girls nails!

The Lacquer Ring – Purple

So I had a post all planned out, I was going to paint my nails using this gorgeous holo glitter that Lesley gave me and no such luck.. So I was going to paint my nails last night with it, I know last minute.. serves me right. Well all of the sudden we had noticed that the floor in our Laundry Room was wet and my washer had been leaking. We moved the middle ‘agitator’ and the drum had water under it.. what the pluck. So we have been having a lot of issues with it and it’s capacity so this morning we bought a new washer dryer set because our dryer has been going as well. In any event I forgot to do my damn nails so I am cycling an old post that I never posted that’s why I have a leaf stamped.. lol

This Month Cynthia is back up from Of Life and Lacquer and first up for color she chose purple. This is Figgy Pudding by Smitten Polish. This was part of their Christmas/Winter Collection and was seriously my favorite Holiday Collection and this my favorite color of all of the collections I got. Believe me, I got quite a few collections around that time. lol

Smitten’s website describes this Jem as a purple jelly base filled with subtly shifting reddish bronze flakies and shimmer. With that I decided to use Essie’s Penny Talk to stamp a leaf as an accent on one of my nails I figured it would really make the flakes pop and I think that’s true.  Although with or without this stamp the flakes pop and are gorgeous on their own too.

IMG_2462IMG_2460IMG_2458Isn’t it amazing! This is one of those colors that has bumped it’s way to my top faves. 🙂

Don’t forget to check out the other gals in their TLR Thursday this Month!

Stamping Saturday – I mustache you a question..

In case you don’t know November has been dubbed Movember in order to promote awareness to Men’s Health.

The Movember Foundation aims to change this way of thinking by putting a fun twist on this serious issue. Using the moustache as a catalyst, the idea is to bring about change and give men the opportunity and confidence to learn and talk about their health and take action when needed.

As a global men’s health movement, the Movember Foundation has the ambition to contribute to improving the lives of men around the world. To achieve this, we challenge men to grow moustaches during Movember (the month formerly known as November) to spark conversation and raise funds for prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health problems.  We see success as moving the dial on progress towards:
  • Reduced mortality from prostate, testicular cancer and men’s suicide
  • Men living with prostate or testicular cancer being physically and mentally well
  • Men and boys understanding how to be mentally healthy and taking action when they experience mental health problems
  • Men and boys with mental health problems not being discriminated against

More information on this cause and how to help can be found at us.movember.com

I have done my nails in support as well as have donated to my friend who is currently participating in Movember. Please do your part in showing support and/or donating this November and always.

If you don’t have someone you know participating yet and would still like to donate, I have attached a link to my friends page here.

For my Mustache look, I FINALLY got my Zoya mattes I have been drooling over for forever! I did two coats of Savita and topped it off with my MoYou Mustache stamp using Essie’s Nothing else metals. I absolutely love the look of the shiny staches over the matte purple. See for yourself!

GO FLYERS!!

Saturnalian

I have been slacking hardcore. I know, I know! I was just barely getting by with doing Stamping Saturdays and our #TLR The Lacquer Ring posts…. to now slacking even with the Stamping Saturdays. Life has just gotten to be too hectic. I haven’t even been checking out my girlfriend’s blogs, or anyones blogs for that matter, I just feel like in a slump. Just too much going on 😦

I got a new couch!! That doesn’t sound so exciting but it is for us lol we needed one BADLY! It’s fabulous! It’s a sectional with a chaise something we are not used to, never had this style couch but I am loving it more every day.   My girlfriend is teaching me how to crochet, so honestly a lot of my spare time has been devoted to practicing that and making different things. The last couple of things I have had on my nails were really good polishes so they held up almost a week at a time so I haven’t even been doing many manis :/    I can’t promise that I will be back as much as I used to but I will at least try to post once a week at least until things pick back up, it’s just so hard finding the time right now. I feel liek this happens every year right around the holidays.  I didn’t even get to do any PCOS/Ovarian Teal Ribbon nails in September 😦 Have no fear though I have a very special giveaway I have been holding on to this month! 😉

Alright well here are my super creepy long nails. I mean not super creepy to everyone (at least I hope not) just for me because my nails have NEVER been this long and it just got to be too long. The cut was well overdue. So this mani was from a couple of weeks ago prior to the cut. 🙂

This is two coats of Philly Loves Lacquer’s Saturnalian. It’s a gorgeous blue with grey scattered holos and rainbow micro glitters, also super high shine. How can you not go wrong! Saturnalian is a part of the Fancy Brigade Mummer’s line. If you are not familiar with the Mummers or Fancies she has some info about it under the polish description.

IMG_7068IMG_7072Gorgeous right?  You can purchase Philly Loves Lacquer polishes here. Although as I check on this it looks like she is currently sold out of this particular one right now 😦

So I leave you for now but will schedule out another post of my gorgeous and first ever Illamasqua!!! I LOVE it wait till you see this color. And of course don’t forget about the upcoming giveaway!

Stamping Saturday – Guest post

This Stamping Saturday you are gonna have to head over to The Fancy Side to see my look 😉

Here’s a sneak peek at the base. Click on the picture below to be brought to the post.

Here’s the other girls this Saturday.

TLR – All that glitters IS gold

Hey There! This month’s TLR pick was Siobhan’s and she chose gold for our color collab post. Anyone that knows me knows I am usually a hater of gold, however V is the ultimate gold lover. She is slowly turning me on to more and more gold looks, but shh don’t tell her I said that.

I have a couple of different options but I wasn’t sure what I wanted to go with for this look. I ended up with my least favorite of the Nordic Collection which is Opi with a nice Fin-nish. This is a very ‘pearly’ gold if you will with hints of bronze not straight gold. I usually hate those types of finishes where you can see every brush stroke and this is of course no exception! LOL! I decided to gradient Cirque’s Trousseau and with that I now absolutely love it! Who’da thunk? My mani started to look very fall like so I then took my new MoYou stamp Mother Nature Plate 07 and Sally Hansen’s Forbidden fudge and added a leaf accent to each nail.

This is for you V, I hope it’s gold enough for ya 😉

IMG_7060Here is an angle picture so you can see the change and it’s a little more vibrant with the leaves

IMG_7061Lastly, this picture is a little dark but again shows the vibrancy of all colors together I absolutely love this color combo.

IMG_7064Well there is my gold mani, I don’t do em often so this shows how much I love V that I went this Gold. lol

On a side note, today as many of you know not just in the US but the rest of the world today is 9/11. Especially those of you in the US I’m sure remember exactly where you were and what you were doing this day 13 years ago, so it seems almost silly to say ‘never forget’ none of us ever will. Today though, even more so, try to remind yourself of everything you have, be grateful, call a loved one and tell them you love them, do a pay it forward deed today. Say a prayer for or just honor those that lost their lives by living yours to the fullest and being thankful that we live in a free country, as there are many that lost their lives since that day, both Military and civilians trying to keep our country safe and free. ❤

9-11-never-forget-1

Are you ready for some football?

This week was the start of the official NFL season. Living near Philly the choice team is the Eagles. My husband and I took my mother and father in law to an Eagles game last year on my birthday and although, I prefer hockey over football, there was nothing else like that game.

Here are my Eagles nails for the first Eagles game today 🙂 This is two coats of Mentality’s Reclaim. I then stamped E-A-G-L-E-S using my new MoYou stamp and on my pinky using the same white, I stamped the helmets and footballs.

As this Mentality color is a matte finish, I had to use a top coat as this was the closest thing I had to Eagles green, here they are:

Stamping Saturdays

Hey guys, so I don’t know if any of you saw my casualty yesterday on facebook or not. But I had a really bad split on my pinky finger that bled and everything it was so short 😦 since I’m sure none of you probably want to see that, I won’t be participating in Stamping Saturday this week :/

please check out the other girls in the Lacquer Ring!

Stamping Saturday – Heavy Cure

The Lacquer Ring’s back this week for an all new Stamping Saturday and it’s almost time for our new challenge to begin.

This is two coats of Darling Diva’s LE Miracle Cure stamped with PUEEN48 using Ulta’s Celebutante and Catrice’s Heavy Metalillac.

Picture 193

Picture 196

Picture 199

Picture 197

I absolutely love this holo by Darling Diva the gradient to the stamp with Celebutante and Heavy Metalillac didn’t go exactly as I’d hoped. Two coats on my swatch sticks Metalillac is darker than Celebutante using two coats however as stamping they were closer in color than I’d hoped so it’s not much of a gradient stamp but it’s subtly there.

How is everyone’s Saturday going? What are you wearing on your nails?

That’s all for me but be sure to check out the rest of the Lacquer Ring

Stamping Saturday – Lima Bunnies

Happy Easter everyone! I have one more Easter look for you before tomorrow. I’m calling these Lima Bunnies.

I used two coats of Jessica’s Lime Cooler, stamped with stamp PUEEN11 using Ulta’s Snow White. I then hand painted in her bow using Urban Decay’s Woodstock and Colors by Llarowe’s Ruthless People, that’s also the color I used for my accent nail.

So what are you wearing on your nails? What are your special plans for tomorrow?
