NOTD 155 – Cindy

Happy Monday! NOT Mondays have to be the worst day of the week really.. The only good thing about this week is that I am off Wed-Friday this week, bad on that though it’s because my husband is getting his tonsils out!! EEK! They say that is one of the worst things/pains you can experience as an adult so needless to say he is not looking forward to it, neither am I šŸ˜¦

I have one of the other ‘Shimmer’ girls to introduce to you today, her name is Cindy and she is STUNNING!

*This polish was sent to me for unbiased review.

First, my inspiration for this maniĀ was Alice in Wonderland. This is one of my all time favorite Disney movies. I really wanted to show you guys Cindy next, and I had just gotten this new rose stamp and it hit me, I can paint them white (‘Ulta – Snow White’) and it will be like when they have to paint all of the roses red because they accidentally planted white instead. šŸ™‚

We dare not stop
Or waste a drop
So let the paint be spread

Alright, now on to the beauty. ‘Cindy’ reminds me a bit of ‘Marilyn’, ‘Marilyn’ is a deeper gorgeous redĀ and ‘Cindy’ is a little brighter red glitter.

‘Cindy’ on it’s own is suspended in a somewhat clear, red base. IĀ applied two coats of ‘Cindy’ over ‘Nubar – Lustful Red’

Here is the final look

I know I talked a little bit about how Shimmer polishes came to be, but I think that it’s just so awesome that allĀ polishes are named after family and friends that she draws inspiration from.

And most importantly, where you can buy these pretties, on the Etsy website

Alright, well that’s it for me today, I hope to be back Wednesday for one of the other ladies and then of course ‘Featured Color Friday’ but we shall see…

OPI’s Glitter Review

Hello Readers:Ā As much as I love “OPI”Ā and I love their glitter lines, like the one Shown above, and the one in my Fancy French post; I find thatĀ in order to get the desired look in the bottle you need at leastĀ 2-3 coats plus your base and top coat. It tends to be thick as the polish itself is a bit thick due to the bigger sparkles. The Fancy french look I did, the pink started to chip off at the bottom of my nails after about 4 days. You can choose to just fix itĀ by painting the empty spot and putting more top coat, but that’sĀ just adding more paint. They are beautiful however they tend to last a little less than normal matte or just in general shimmery colors.Ā Just beware with these glitter colors is all…

*A Shout out to my wonderful, Awesome Friend in this post, Monique for giving me her bottle of the above color, “Absolutely Alice by OPI” as I was having a terrible time trying to find it as it’s discontinued. Still one of my favorite colors to date!
