Three year Blogiversary

I can’t even believe it! I started this blog with just shy of 100 polishes, three years ago January 29th. I have grown to well over 500 and a overwhelmlingly amount of overloaded shelves. I have met so many other amazing and polish addiction enabler bloggers, some of which I have become super close with. ❤

OPI is back at it with their 8th Annual limited edition Breast Cancer Awareness duo in support of Breast Cancer Awareness.

Stamping Saturday – Bejewled Tiger

I absolutely love this MoYou stamp, I am using it again. I used it a few weeks ago when The Lacquer Ring brought you our first collab post and I did my orange nails . This is two coats of Cirque’s Bejeweled which I absolutely LOVE and I stamped China Glaze’s Liquid Leather with the stamp overtop. I love how the holo shows through it.

NOTD 179 – Featured Color Friday – Icey Duo

Happy Friday and Happy Holidays (just in case I am not able to post again for a while with the upcoming craziness) 🙂

As I said in my last post, I picked up Butter London’s Double Take Ice Duo at Ulta the other day. It’s … amazing! I absolutely loved the formula of both of my first ever Butter’s. The blue is just as stunning as I’d hope it’d be from the looking at it in the bottle. and I actually like the glass shardy ice topper and I wasn’t sure I would.

This is the website’s description: Opaque, navy shimmer. A twist on the traditional style of dress in British private schools.

I am totally in love with my new blue and topper… Although as I said in my last post, due to the price this will probably be my only Butter’s unless I can find another amazing sale!

NOTD 176 – Featured Color Saturday – Absolute Glitter

Happy Saturday guys! Sorry my Featured Color is late, I was a very busy girl shopping yesterday and was just too beat! We went out Thursday Evening for Round 1 at 6PM, then Round 2 at 8PM and then Round three Friday morning at 6AM. Whew!

I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving and if you went shopping, got some nice deals!

I have for you another one of my I Love Nail Polish pretties, I give you Absolute Zero paired with Morgan Taylor Fame Game

Absolute Zero is a deep navy with amazing glitter undertones. I love this color so much. Then Fame Game is so blinged out, love this too!

Winter Nail/cuticle care

A while back I had done a post about OPI Nail Envy and still to this day, I am absolutely in love with it. It has done wonders for my nails! As you know, my sister came to visit last week and I used it on her nails. A week later, she is hooked too and can’t wait for her nails to be strong and grow like mine. We got to talking and she then asked how I care for my cuticles and it got me thinking to do this post. We all care for our nails/cuticles differently so I wanted to share how I will be caring for mine this Winter.

For one my hands tend to get very dry and sometimes even cracked in the winter months. The lotion I use to stop that and to keep my hands soft is by Miracle of Aloe and it’s called Miracle Hand Repair. This stuff is seriously amazing. You only need a little and it might feel thick at first but once you rub it in and it soaks in it works wonders!

The next products are what I use for cuticle care.

I use Sally Hansen’s gel cuticle remover and Revlon brand cuticle pusher. This cuticle gel and from what I know of others, most cuticle remover gels you need to leave on your cuticles for a few moments to soften them.

I then use the flat part of my pusher and push the cuticles back and the rounded part to clean up what I’ve pushed. Finally, but not always any other clean up I use my cuticle clippers for.

Finally, and hand in hand with my lotion I use cuticle oil. Usually I use the cuticle oil first and then apply lotion. I have one at home, my Julep rollerball applicator and at work I have Sally Hansen brush on. I apply the cuticle oil and rub in, I then apply my lotion and voila, smooth hands and cuticles.

Well there you have it, that is how I care for my hands/cuticles. I do this stuff more frequently during the winter months but all year, still care for them the same.

NOTD 103 – Featured Color Friday

Hey guys! It’s been a week and I’m sorry for the absence… As most of you know that read last week’s Featured Color Friday, I was in the ER Wednesday. I have tried to stay away from acetone all week I have also been sick with this flu since December 17th. Although I was careful not to touch anything and used a lot of antibacterial…. I still picked up one of the other strands of the flu at the Hospital. Ugh! This strand was even worse than the first, so I have also been very sick all week.

I am back now and feeling a little better, so hopefully this time it goes away once and for all !! 🙂

For my Birthday, the lovely Lesley got me the “Jade Holographic polish in Magia Negra”. I used two coats of that gorgeous holo on my ring and index fingers and the remainder, used two coats of “Maybelline Impeccable Greys”.

My thumb is also unwrapped now, so I was able to finally take lots of pictures and paint my nails better this week. 😀 but don’t worry no pics of my injury 🙂

I am absolutely in love with these holos! I have 4 of them now thanks to Lesley she got me this one and “Deja Vu”, I already had “Energy” and “Vermehlo Surreal”. I cant wait to use the pink 😀

NOTD 102 – Featured Color Friday – ‘Flesh & Blood’

This Friday’s feature is “Deborah Lippmann – New flesh” from the True Blood collection and “Jessica – Crimson Tattoo”. The mani started out as a play on the “new flesh”, I wanted to use a blood-red color for stamp and it turned literal……

The other night started out as any normal Wednesday night, we ate dinner, watched some TV, etc. Tempest my ‘daughter’ who is a hybrid, wolf-husky and an extremely picky eater, decided she didn’t want her dinner.  Instead of sending her to bed hungry I decided, 10 o’clock last night, to go throw on a frozen hamburger to add to her food, for her to eat… I got out a knife to pry the stuck patties apart when… SLICE!  Right through my thumb…

Once we slowed the bleeding and could get a good look at it to could determine it needed professional attention, we went to the E.R. (I should add I have never been in a hospital for my own treatment, never broken any bones, never cut myself to the point where I needed stitches… so yeah, it freaked me out a little…)

The doctor advised that I had two options: it was definitely bad enough for stitches but he didn’t want me to have to go through the trauma if he could “glue” it. Sounds fun right?  So he glued me and broke open the cut and I started to bleed all over again, but it finally stopped.  They wrapped me up and put a splint to keep the finger immobile so I don’t break open the glue.  All fixed up, I finally returned home around 3AM.

As you can see my idea of the play on ‘blood’ to go with my new polish “new flesh” turned literal, lol.

When I went to the E.R. that night I had just “new flesh” on and I hadn’t done the stamps yet.  I did the stamps on Thursday, so they are far from perfect, hence the lack of pictures.

(Oh, and getting showered & ready today one-handed was… well, interesting. 🙂 )

NOTD 99 – Featured Color ‘Black Friday’

Happy Friday everyone! Welcome to the first edition of Featured Color Friday. Each Friday I will feature a color that I have yet to on the blog. Then new links will be added to my “Current Polish collection” page until all are filled.

These were my New Years Day nails. I painted one coat of “China Glaze – Liquid Leather” and topped with two coats of “Lush Lacquer – Black Friday” and “Seche Vite”

I absolutely love the colors and shapes and the design, and everything about the polish. It however is a glitter topper that you have to maneuver and manipulate on your nails so it lays where you want it to sometimes. ( if you are OCD like me) 😀

Still trying to get the lighting just right with my new light box, but I definitely see some improvements. Sorry about the blurriness around some nails, I had minor black polish marks before clean up that I tried to blur out. I wanted to take the pictures last night before Seche shrinked the look, and of course I did all that, and it didn’t shrink… 😦 I should be happy I know but I sat there and edited all the pictures. now I am using them hahaha

NOTD 98 & Giveaway!

Hey guys! Sorry I have been lacking in posts this week, hope you can understand how crazy its been, I am sure it has been for everyone. It’s finally calming down took some decorations down, etc and so I am back!

I got a lot of very nice and amazing things for Christmas, one of which was a light box! YAY! So hopefully once I perfect the lighting, my pics will be better.

First I am going to show you my nails of the day. I won the Jessica 2012 Fall collection from the fabulous Cynthia’s blog! So I have two of those colors to show you today 😀 I put Cinnamon kiss on my nails with Champagne Bubbles on accent fimger, all two coats topped with seche vite.
