The Lacquer Ring – Aztec Nails

Hey there, long time no see. I have a whole folder of un-shown looks for you. Today we delayed our TLR looks from Thursday to now. In honor of Jess whose too busy for us hehe just kidding she works A LOT we did these nails for her this month. 🙂

First I painted Morgan Taylor My Carriage awaits. Once dry I used striping tape and did opposite triangles and filled it in with China Glaze Too Yacht to Handle. Once super dry I did my Aztec stamp using the triangle the opposite side using MoYou’s Pro Collection-02

71pu8K01jvL__SL1336_I then decided I felt like my look needed to be matte, I used OPI’s matte top coat and waited like 975283798273489 hours for it to dry. LOL Does anyone else have this problem? What I did as a trick, and maybe everyone already knows about this, I did a thin layer of my Seche Vite as that is lightening fast, and in about ten minutes just to be sure I used the matte topper. I went to bed about a half hour later and it worked! no sheet marks like every other time I’ve used matte yay!

Here’s my take on Aztec nails, whatdya think?

Stamping Saturday – Let it Snow

despicablememinion

Whaaaaaatttt? It’s Stamping Saturday and I have a look for you? Yes I do. I know it’s been about forever since the last time I did Stamping Saturday, but I am trying to participate more again! 🙂

It’s snowing, yet again, it’s beyond freezing, yet again, it’s NJ and it sucks, as always… so I have a snowflake mani.

animated_snow_flakes_snow_storm

For this mani I desperately wanted to use my flakies, since they are really just a top coat unless you do multiple coats, I painted one thin coat of Julep’s Emma to give it that frost look. I then did one coat of ILNP’s Cold Fusion. My accent finger I did two coats of China Glaze’s Resolution, once all dry I stamped different snowflakes using Essie’s Blue Rhapsody.

I love how Cold Fusion shifts from cobalts to emerald greens. These flakies are the best thing ever I’m in love.

As one of the Stamping Saturday Founders I really should be doing this every Saturday with the girls but I’ve been slacking, 😦 we’ve welcomed so many new girls and new looks each week with us. If you love stamping and would like to join us, please do!!

If you have a look to share this week, you can grab this link to put in your post

The Lacquer Ring – Cherry Blossoms

We are back for our first Nail art group post from the Lacquer Ring. As we said before, Nicole from Polish Me, Please was in charge of picking our color this month which was orange and our nail art group post which is Cherry Blossoms. I already texted Nicole last night cursing her because I was so frustrated and hating how my Blossoms were coming out. Damn you Nicole! lol

When I think of Cherry Blossoms I think of Pink. I did some research and found some other colors. I decided to go with the white variety.

My sister is in town for a few weeks to visit!! She was over the other night so I had her help me pick a base color for my Cherry Blossoms. She came up with two coats of Darling Diva’s Dangerous Driver. My branches I used a brush and mixed drops of Urban Decay’s Gunmetal and one of China Glazes’s Liquid Leather. For my blossoms, I dotted them on using Ulta’s Snow White. The Center I mixed Sinful Colors Happy Ending and Jessica’s Banana Peel. For the pollen, I lightly brushed the yellow again and tipped it with China Glaze Liquid Leather.

So these aren’t exactly as I’d hoped they turn out, but I ended up liking them. It was fun to see what all of the girls came up with. See theirs for yourself below!

NOTD – Don’t Make me Whine

My amazing sister surprised me and got me two polishes I had on my wishlist! She got me China Glaze Tongue & Chic and Don’t Make me Whine.

This is a deep, gorgeous, wine color, with a slight pearly finish. I paired two coats of this with Sephora Formula X’s Light my Fire and I did a gradient look with it.

I just LOVE the richness of the gold glitter flicks against the rich wine color.

*Picture Heavy* My Polish Addiction (Updated)

This is an update to my Polish Addiction Post, the original can be found here. My dad made this shelf for me, and it’s been a work in progress ever since. I wanted to paint it, so my husband and I did three coats of a nice Cherry finish and two gloss top coats. I went to put it back and it kept tipping because it’s sitting on carpet, and it’s sooo heavy. I did not want to have another issue like I did here because that was just not cool. 😦 I have been procrastinating in getting brackets to secure the shelf to the wall and, FINALLY this weekend we put it up for real 😀 I also finished all my swatches  that I have been working on for a while now, so I had a very productive Saturday. Here is the final product. 🙂 ❤

And here are some pictures up close of my Collection, I will be updating my collection page here soon with a full list of my Collection.

Day 5 Blue – 31Challenge

For Day 5 of the Challenge , I used my “OPI Start to Finish Base and Top coat”, My new “China Glaze – Sexy in the City”, my new “Julep – Oscar” and of course my trusty “Nicole by OPI – Drying Drops”

I started off with one coat of the “China Glaze – Sexy in the City” and one Coat of the “Julep – Oscar” on my ring finger

It didn’t need it, but I painted 3 coats of the blue to be sure that when I painted my design over the glitter it would be dark enough. I also ended up with 2 coats of the gold, again not sure that it really needed it.

I had some address labels I just started cutting triangles and funky designs on, i attached them to my finger nail and painted 3 coats over top the gold and peeled off to let dry.. sloowwwwly.

For whatever reason on both of my ring fingers I felt there was a part with too much Gold showing so I just added a couple of dots. 🙂

And here is my finished product for Day 5 of the Nail Challenge, Blue. Hope you enjoyed!
