NOTD 170 – Featured Color Friday – Darling Talk

Happy Friday!!! This weekend is especially special because my sister and my nephew are coming to visit on Monday!! ❤ ❤

The other day in Target, I picked up ‘Shearling Darling’ from the Essie Winter Collection. It’s a very typical winter red to me, nothing too fancy i.m.o. but obviously something drew me to it, that’s why I picked it up right? 🙂

I then used my thin chevron plate and on my ring finger painted the red first and stamped ‘Essie – Penny Talk’ overtop and on my pointer finger painted Penny Talk with the Red Chevroned over top that.

NOTD 129 – Essie Strips

As most of you have read by now, either via Twitter, Facebook, or my last post I am ( by the time this post hits – IF it works properly ) currently in North Carolina visiting my Sister and my Brother-in-law and meeting my new and first Nephew / Godson!!! So no ‘Featured Color Friday’ this week I’m afraid.

With that being said, I had a lot to do around the house this week to prepare for my trip and then with me being gone a couple of days there was just no time for nail up-keep this week. My green from Friday was chipping off badly so while at Target this weekend, I picked up some cute “Essie – nail strips”. Nicole over at Polish Me, Please has done some excellent reviews on which brands she liked, check her blog out for those.

The strips I got were a gray with what I thought were little rhinestones however upon further review they look like a cross between rhinestones and water droplet details, either way super cute.

The strips were very easy to apply, they were a sticker that you apply to the nail and just like most file the excess off. I did not use a top coat. I will let you know how they held up when I get back 🙂

NOTD 51 There’s no Place Like Chrome

My local Target finally got the Essie Metallics Collection in, wootz! 😀 So up close and personal, next to my skin tone I didn’t like the Gold one that I had on my wish list so I ended up with “No Place Like Chrome” and “Penny Talk”.

I don’t know what I expected with a Metallic collection, but I hate these types of polishes that have those lines and imperfections that you get with Metallic and Pearlized type polishes. Hopefully in my pictures it doesn’t look too bad. I think that these two will end up just being nail art and / or stamping polishes because they were pretty opaque with just one coat.

In any event, my gf Gina gave me a bunch of miscellaneous nail water tattoo/decals. I painted “No Place Like Chrome” and used three different of the lace designs that the water decals came in. Same one on my thumb and middle, same on my ring and pointer and a different one on my pinky.
