Nail Files: Bare All Tag NOTD 48

Lindz from girlintheglasses, came up with a Bare All Tag. Check out her original post and mine below. Many of us love our pretty polished fingers, me included, but what about the natural nails that lurk beneath the enamel?  They just don’t get much attention unless we’re prepping them for yet another coat of a lovely lacquer of our choice.  I feel it’s time to strip the polish and bare all in a show of solidarity ladies!  At least long enough to snap a photo and answer a few questions, I’m not a monster after all.  So please join me, show your naturally beautiful nails and share some information about them and the products you prefer to pamper them with.”  Take part in the Bare All Tag if you would like to, everyone has been tagged, so go for it 🙂

Nail Files: Bare All Tag:

  • Include a photo of your clean, product free, natural nails. Don’t be shy, look I even have stains on my nails from polish and still a little cracking damage.
  • Preferred length:  Short > medium
  • Preferred shape:  I guess mine would be considered “squoval.” more oval with a little squared-ness they don’t seem to split on corners and break this way
  • Favorite base coat:  nail-aid peeling base coat
  • Favorite top coat:  Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat
  • Favorite cuticle cream/oil:  Julep Cuticle Oil
  • Favorite hand cream:  Sally Hanson Radiant Hands, Nails, and Cuticles Creme
  • Favorite nail clippers:  Tweezerman Clippers
  • Favorite nail file:  glass file
  • Favorite remover:  Sally Hanson plus Vitamins (non acetone)
  • Self or professional manicure:  I do my own manis, pedis and nail art.
  • How often do you polish:  2-3 times a week just about every 3-5 days depending on the durability of the mani I just did.
  • Most wanted nail product:  Essie Metallics or China Glaze Safari collection
  • Be sure to include the nail files bare all tag in your post or video response as I have below.

TAG…you’re it!

Makeup.com Blog Feature

Friday Night, Kristen Oldham Giordani an L.A. based beauty editor and writer for Makeup.com, contacted me and wanted to feature my Blog and this look for her weekly column there!

I am so happy and honored that she liked my look enough to want to share it with more people from their website and her column. I have created a link to the article here.

Thank you so much Kristen!

Here is another peek at that days Challenge for those of you that missed it 🙂

Inspiration from a Song: This challenge was so fun, to try to think of different songs for inspiration, I love music, all different genres from all different eras. 🙂 My inspiration was “Neon Trees – Animal”  and the look is Neon Animal print.

The polishes I chose for this were: “China Glaze – Pink Voltage (neon)” and “Zoya – Charisma” for me left hand with “Sinful Colors – Blackest Black”. My Right hand was “OPI – Fly (Nicki Minaj collection)” with “Essie – Vermillionaire” and “Blackest Black” I used “nail-aid – Peeling Nail” as a base and then white as a wonderful tip from  Nicole 🙂 I also am now a “Seche Vite addict” I bought a sample of this at Image Beauty last week and it is amazing! It dries so fast! Way faster than the drying drops!!

Can I just say, before I show you the polishes, and the final look how hard it was to try to capture the neon and brightness of these colors!! 😦 They are much brighter in person.

And here are a few different views of the finished look 🙂

Day 18 – Half Moons – 31Challenge

So… queue 4AM, Saturday morning.  My husband and I are dead asleep in our quiet house (…not a creature was stirring not even a mouse… 🙂 )  When all of the sudden…     BOOM!!!

We had no idea what had happened (well my husband didn’t I was dead asleep still… I sleep through everything! 🙂 )  We (he) frantically looked around the house to try to find what had happened.

Come to find out my cherished nail polish collection had come crashing down in the closet I keep it! It slammed into the doors of the closet, dropping all of my nail polish to the floor in the process in one massive crash!

When I finally heard what had happened I admit I panicced. I rushed to the scene of the accident to survey and assess the damages….

Luckily, they make nail polish bottles like fisher price trucks! I hadn’t lost a single one!!! I was soooo relieved. Whew!

(Note to self: secure nail polish rack to wall next time…)

Anyway, On to Day 18 of the challenge:

Here is a look at the polishes that I chose for my Half-Moons look. “Sonia Kashuk – Dream of Genie” and “Essie – Aruba Blue” I also used my “Nail Aid – Peeling Nail, Intense Repair Gel” I will keep everyone posted on my progress with that, so far only the one application, so far so good.

I painted the Pink first on all nails the night before. Once fully dry, in the morning, I used those binder hole stickers and painted the rest of my nail with the blue.

Here’s the final look:

I have to say that I absolutely LOVE this blue, I love its depth and shimmer!
