The Lacquer Ring – Beach/Tropical

Are you Sea-Rious? That’s the polish I chose to use for this look by Glam Polish from their Under the Sea collection. This is what started my brainstorming for this look and my decision to go more Beach rather than Tropical for our TLR theme.

I still have yet to get my macro pics quite down as good as most bloggers Perhaps below if you have any recommendations for me, I’d be happy to hear. I am currently using my Iphone 6 along with my macro clip on piece I got on Amazon. Sometimes I use the lighbox I have sometimes I don’t but I don’t have a problem with lighting so much as I do the clearness of Macros..

Anyway, Are you Sea-Rious? is a gorgeousssss seafoam green holo with shimmer and holographic aqua micro-glitter. It’s a textured polish which also reminds me of the beach but I did use a top coat in this case.  I stamped a large seashell on one of my nails using my MoYou plate. I used the same MoYou plate that has the same seashell but a bunch of little ones on the other fingers. I used Essie’s Good as Gold as my stamping color.

I’m even wearing my mermaid ring to match my beach theme today 🙂

On to this week’s prompt, floral. I wanted to use this flower stamp I had and it made me think of Hawaii so I chose a sort of Hawaiin theme here, or at least I hope that’s how it’s portrayed.. lol

For this look I did a gradient using Jessica’s Banana Peel and Tangerine Dreamz. I stamped

the flower using Illamasqua Boosh.

 

The third picture looks a little blurry, I was messing around with my fisheye  camera add on to my phone.

TLR – Man nails

This month, we did back-to-back TLR’s with the holiday next week. Last week as you already know was ‘Cream’ color.  This prompt is ‘man nails’, done by or inspired by.

I tried very hard to get Don to do my nails… yea that didn’t work.. lol.  I had him instead come up with nail colors and inspiration.

Don’s original choice was he wanted ‘hooker red’ so he chose Nubar’s Lustful Red. Okay color down, then he looked through all of my stamps and came up with the splatters from my MoYou stamp. He wanted me to use black so I did Illamasqua’s Boosh. He said the colors and the stamp reminded him of when the Venom Symbiote took over Spider-man

The Lacquer Ring – Tokidoki Unicorn

So as you have noticed the pattern we usually post TLR on Thursdays bi-weekly. Well this prompt we were all turds and super busy that we have all posted scattered rather than together like the intention of TLR. In any event this prompt was picked by Lesley @Misfitlesley inspired by the Tokidoki Unicorns that Frosso sent us last year. They came in these cute little boxes that you get a random one and surprisingly enough we all got different ones! Too stinkin cute!

My unicorns name is Dolce and I love him. I used OPI’s Going My Way or Norway? Then I hand painted on an angle Julep’s Carrie. For the sprinkles I hand painted on Opi’s Hey Baby and Cirque’s Tavern on the Teal. I painted the unicorn horn on my index finger using a nail art white. Finally I had a stamp of a small heart and I used Illamasqua’s Boosh and I hand painted the crossbones below it.

The Lacquer Ring Turns 1 – Baby Blue

Can you believe it! We have been doing The Lacquer Ring for one year already! Our very first post was our special polish Nicole got for us collab with Unicorn Bubbles. From there, we took off with each of us picking a color collab and a nail art theme collab.

This month’s pick was Lesley and she chose baby blue. My nails are atrocious right now! My brother in law and future sister in law and their two kids and possibly dog are all moving in for a while in less than two weeks now. I have been cleaning and organizing to make room for them. To say the least my hands and nails have taken a beating 😦

Luckly! I already had this gem (along with many others 😦 ) in my folder to post so it worked out perfect. This is Delush Polish’s Springing in the Rain. It’s a sky blue crelly filled with sprinkles of white and fuchsia glitters that remind you sunny days are ahead! (taken from Delush’s website)

So what do you think? I find it funny only because to me this is such a spring color and we are having nothing of the sort here on the East Coast. Today will be going up to 90, that’s not normal for our Spring.. smh How is the weather in your parts of the world? And how are you feeling this springy blue?

The Lacquer Ring – (WD) Negative Space Mani

It’s that time again and as you know it was Nicole’s pick this month. For our TLR collab for nail art she chose negative space nails.

For my fellow Walking Dead-ers this week is the season finale so I really wanted to use Dollish Polish’s Walker bait polish. I paired it with Ulta’s Concrete Evidence and some blood using China Glaze’s Adventure Red-y. If you watch the Walking Dead you will notice the two W’s I have on my nails you all know what that’s for … well we don’t know yet, but it’s a part of the current story line. For those of you that don’t it could just be for Walking dead 😉 lol

I absolutely love Walker Bait and I am so mad it was part of my un-trieds. I picked up this beauty from Dollish herself last year when we did the NYC Blogger Meet up which was really fun 🙂

St. Patty’s Day nails

Top o’ the mornin’ to ya! Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Today I have some very festive nails for you in honor of the Holiday.

I used Philly Loves Lacquer’s Gilded Shamrock and topped It with Jessica’s 18K gold leaf topper. I painted Jessica’s Lime Cooler on my accent nail.  If you ordered the whole St Patty’s Day nail lacquer set from Philly Loves Lacquer you also got a set of gold and a set of green shamrock stickers from Lauren Walker at YouPolish. I put one of the gold ones as an accent.

The Lacquer Ring – Gradient

The talented and lovely Cynthia’s choice is up again. I am loving her right now because her original choice was water marbling for today but thankfully she came to her senses and chose Gradient.

I’ve done both looks but water marbling for those of you that have tried it is A. a pain in the ass and B. messy no matter what I’ve tried. So I’m loving Cynthia for changing her mind for all of us 🙂

For my gradient I had Valentine’s colors in mind as I did this right around that time, I know I was super prepared this time 🙂 I did the base using Morgan Taylor’s Ella of a girl from the Cinderella collection. I then did a flakie gradient using I think my favorite one of the ILNP bunch, Electric Carnival

I especially love Electric Carnival as it has soo many shades, red, pink, gold, and green. ILNP’s description talks about how you will catch even more colors in different lighting. I sure do and I love it! 😀

The Lacquer Ring – Teal

It’s finally Thursday! This week feels like it has just drug on so badly. Perhaps it’s partly from me working through lunch the last few days being completely and utterly beyond swamped. 😦 Just because it’s Thursday that doesn’t mean that the swamp-ness has gotten better just that it’s almost over and time for a break 😉

With that being said, I had totally forgotten that today was our bi-weekly post and almost wasn’t able to participate. I decided that I would at least do a quick 4 finger mani because I couldn’t be late again 😦 lol  This month is Amy’s pick and for her color she chose Teal.

I have so many teals to choose from however one sticks out as my favorite and was a quick dry, so win-win.  I painted one coat of OPI’s Fly just to have some undies and then one thick coat of Shimmer’s Strength. This teal beauty can either be worn with undies or on it’s own. Stand alone takes about 2-3 coats or just a few thick ones to become opaque. With the undies this was just one coat of Strength.

So what do you think Super glittery right, how can you go wrong!

Saturnalian

I have been slacking hardcore. I know, I know! I was just barely getting by with doing Stamping Saturdays and our #TLR The Lacquer Ring posts…. to now slacking even with the Stamping Saturdays. Life has just gotten to be too hectic. I haven’t even been checking out my girlfriend’s blogs, or anyones blogs for that matter, I just feel like in a slump. Just too much going on 😦

I got a new couch!! That doesn’t sound so exciting but it is for us lol we needed one BADLY! It’s fabulous! It’s a sectional with a chaise something we are not used to, never had this style couch but I am loving it more every day.   My girlfriend is teaching me how to crochet, so honestly a lot of my spare time has been devoted to practicing that and making different things. The last couple of things I have had on my nails were really good polishes so they held up almost a week at a time so I haven’t even been doing many manis     I can’t promise that I will be back as much as I used to but I will at least try to post once a week at least until things pick back up, it’s just so hard finding the time right now. I feel liek this happens every year right around the holidays.  I didn’t even get to do any PCOS/Ovarian Teal Ribbon nails in September 😦 Have no fear though I have a very special giveaway I have been holding on to this month! 😉

Alright well here are my super creepy long nails. I mean not super creepy to everyone (at least I hope not) just for me because my nails have NEVER been this long and it just got to be too long. The cut was well overdue. So this mani was from a couple of weeks ago prior to the cut. 🙂

This is two coats of Philly Loves Lacquer’s Saturnalian. It’s a gorgeous blue with grey scattered holos and rainbow micro glitters, also super high shine. How can you not go wrong! Saturnalian is a part of the Fancy Brigade Mummer’s line. If you are not familiar with the Mummers or Fancies she has some info about it under the polish description.

Stamping Saturdays #fightforlightandlive

Hey guys! It’s Stamping Saturday! Feels like forever since I’ve done this since I missed last weeks! Don’t worry I haven’t forgotten to do my CND Vinylux review I’ve just been busy since we got back from vacation working on the new blog. Have you checked out the new Facebook page? Also if you notice I got my own dot com, revamped the layout and Esther and I worked on creating my very own custom Header for both! (She’s really reasonable if you are in the market for one yourself or any other graphic needs!) I’m so excited! 😀

I got some stuff over at Lacquer Me Silly’s Blog Sale and I think my favorite thing that I got was a special surprise pick from Frosso herself (I think Margo really picked it out) 😉 It’s KB Shimmer’s The Dancing Green! Wait till you see how gorgeous it is! This polish couldn’t have come at a better time! 🙂

With the sudden loss of America’s beloved Robin Williams there is finally more light being shown on Mental Health of all kinds. It hits very close to home for me as several very close family members suffer from different types of depression. On FB and Instagram there is a green mani day to show your support and help raise awareness for Depression/Mental Health. You can see the details here. My hope is that people suffer from depression seek help. It is so hard sometimes to realize how bad your depression has gotten the deeper you go, just remember you always have support and there is NO shame in seeking help! PLEASE DO!

Stamping Saturdays – Baby girl

Well no baby yet, but any day now! I don’t know if I told you guys or not but my brother-in-law and his fiancée are pregnant and my niece is due any day now! In honor of her arrival I did an overly girly manicure. She is being kind of stubborn so I was hoping that maybe this would help. Quite possibly she’ll arive tonight or tomorrow 😀

For this mani I painted two coats of Morgan Taylor’s Prettier in pink. Before I stamped, I also topped the pink with China Glaze’s Travel in Colour. I stamped Ulta’s Snow White using PUEEN36 stamp.

AS I TYPE this post, I just got the call that she’s finally been admitted! She’s been having contractions all week and they wouldn’t take her… AZ is very strange! WOOHOO the nails worked!!

Stamping Saturday – Jazzy Berry Swirl

As you read this, I am down the shore… or for those not on the East Coast ‘At the Beach’. That means I prepared in advance and did my post and had my nails ready! Wow that never happens anymore!

I got this gorgeous and my first ever Tip Top nails color from Siobhan called Jazz Berryblue. I love blues and she knows this, she is my polish twin we like a lot of the same colors and usually end up doing similar nails or colors often close together or at the same time. 🙂

Once I had two coats of Jazz Berryblue on, I used my MoYou stamping plate Sailor Collection-07 and Jessica’s Barely Blueberry for the swirls

The Lacquer Ring – Holographic Pink

We’re at it again, this time it was my turn to pick! For our color collaboration I asked the girls to do a Holographic Pink look, or as a last resort if they didn’t have a holo pink, I asked them to do a ‘bright ass pink’ look. hehe I am keeping the nail art collab a secret so hopefully the other girls don’t spill the beans. 🙂

As I mentioned in my other post Frosso from Lacquer me Silly, Amy from The Fancy Side, and I met up in NYC and did some damage with some new Cirque polishes! I had one I was gonna use but I decided to use the one I got that day since I got it with two of the TLR girls. I give you Cirque’s PowWow.

I painted two coats of PowWow and stamped PUEEN37 using Darling Diva’s Diamond. I think this is like the third look I did with this silver holo, I’m in love but not as much as I am with this pink.

Stamping Saturday – Memorial Day

I know.. I know.. I am very late in posting my SS look this week! As I mentioned in my other post my sister is visiting, and today she came over to help me garden. I went to Lowes and got some edging rocks to match what I already have out front and some bags of dirt… well my Stepdad went with me and they dropped a brick on his truck and scratched it and I felt Terrible!!! 😦 My sister and I planted the butterfly bush and lilac bush I picked up last weekend! I love it 🙂 I’ve also been pretty sick the last couple of weeks so I apologize for the lack of posts recently .

 

Although Memorial Day is so much more than just the un-official start to Summer, I did some festive nails for the occasion. I painted two coats of Nina Ulta Pro’s Cobalt and then Darling Diva’s Home of the Brave. I then stamped Ulta’s Snow White using my Red Angel stamp RA319.

This glitter topper is so special and I saved it just for this occasion! This is one of Darling Diva’s ‘Cause’ polishes. 100% of the proceeds from this purchase goes to the DAV in her fathers honor as he is a Vietnam Veteran. I absolutely love this topper and love how special it is to her, which makes it special to me. I think I’ve mentioned this before, but my husband was in the Army and he went to Iraq twice. I am also involved in my local American Legion where we give back to the community and give back to our Veteran and Active Duty families, those serving overseas, Homeless Veterans, Disabled Veterans, etc. like this. NOTD – Tangerine Easter Beanz

Whoa, I know I am posting in the middle of the week, can you believe it! I’ve been so busy posting for our weekly Stamping Saturday is about all I’ve been able to handle. I’ve painted my nails and have lots of looks to show you.

Today I have some Easter nails for you using Jessica Banana Peel and Tangerine Dreamz. I stamped Catrice’s Heavy Metallilac  using plate Wistonia W212.

I still need some help from Cynthia on the gradient, but I think it turned out okay… what do you think?

I wanted my nails to resemble when you are dying eggs and you dip one half the egg in one color and the other in another, I somewhat achieved my look. I’m not 100% sold on my gradient with this, it needs work.

I got this whole Jessica Gelato Mio set so I will be doing some other looks shortly with the other colors!! 🙂

Stamping Saturday – Purple Zebra

Sorry this turned in to Stamping Sunday.. I painted my look on Friday night and ran some errands Saturday.. before I knew it I had to leave for a benefit that I had planned to attend last night. I let the girls know I’d be late and so here I am. Stamping Saturday / Sunday.

I painted two coats of Darling Diva’s Dangerous Driver using MoYou Stamp Back to the 80s 04 and Zoya Carter. My accent nail has two coats of Zoya Carter all topped with Seche.

Stamping Saturdays – A Fresh Mojito

Sorry I haven’t been on since last week, busy weeks here. I am back for an all new Stamping Saturday for you today!

This is two coats of Nubar’s Spirit Walker. I stamped using my MoYou Explorer Collection – 6 plate. For my ring finger and thumb (not shown) I used a gradient look with Colors by Llarowe’s Mojito and ILNP’s A Fresh Evergreen for the turtle stamp. The rest of the nails I just used A Fresh Evergreen.

Textured Tuesdays – Cosmo in the Morning

For most of you that have been following my blog for a while know that you don’t see many textured looks here… I have never been a big fan. My polish girls, Lesley, Amy, Jess, Nic, Sib, Fross, and Cynthia finally talked me in to it and now I have quite a few in my collection; So far mostly Zoyas and a couple of OPI’s.

Amy from The Fancy Side has decided to start a new theme on Tuesday’s for anyone interested and it’s called Textured Tuesdays. Head on over to her blog to add your nails to the link every Tuesday.

I wasn’t able to participate in week 1 so this is week 2. I did Zoya Cosmo on all fingers and accented one nail with OPI’s 4 in the Morning.
