HMOTD – 1 Spiderwebs

OCTOBER IS HERE!! woohoo! Today is the first day of October, there are 30 days to Halloween, it’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month( I will be wearing my pink ribbon pin every day and pink every friday!), it’s Pumpkin Spice coffee time. ❤

Today is the first edition of the Halloween Mani’s of the Day (HMOTD) (I will try to do every 2-3 days sometimes sooner depending on my schedule) 😀 This is “Liquid Leather by China Glaze” topped with one coat of “Sinful Colors – Call you later” I used “Essie – No place like chrome” for the spiderweb stamp and then added a black gem to represent a spider 😀

So I like this mani much better, I wasn’t sure about putting black on so soon, I mean I know it’s fall just felt like it’s not really color out yet, I feel that black is a deep fall winter color. I usually don’t mind too much with that, If I feel like wearing the color, I will but something just felt weird about putting on black, are you guys like that with some colors, or am I just crazy?! lol Anyway I really liked how the green sparkle kind of made the black appear as a deep green sparkle color. I have said it before and I will say it again, I absolutely love the “Essie Chrome collection” as stamping polishes! No doubt.

*Side note rant* I cannot find the e.l.f. Disney Villians collection! It says Limited Edition Walgreen’s only collection, guess what, I did a search on eyeslipsface.com and none of my Walgreen’s in my state are selling it! Poo!!

NOTD 55 – Sparkly leopard

It’s Wednesday everyone, we made it this far, now go out and hump everyone!!!! …. No? That’s not what hump day is? Sorry.. lol Anyway, today’s mani is brought to you by “CND – Stickey base coat” , OPI DS – Classic” , “Urban Decay – Barlust” , “Sinful Colors – Blackest Black” , and “SV top coat”. I have been using my “Nail Aid – Peeling Nail Base coat” and I am doing well with the peeling, but then it seems like the manis barely last 2-3 days which is about the time I usually swap out anyway, but they keep chipping. It’s like it’s not keeping the mani on, so I am going to switch up from the CND to the Nail Aid treatment every other mani we shall see…

Step 1: Paint your base coat 2-3 coats (or however many needed) “OPI DS – Classic”

Step 2: Once completely dry, take your leopard spot color “UD – Barlust” and either with the brush in the bottle or a nail art brush, make spots of all sizes, long oval ones, odd-shaped circular ones, big ones small ones, whatever you think.

Step 3: With a toothpick, smash down the tip so you now have a flat toothpick, dip it in your paint “Sinful Colors Black” and make “u’s” and “c’s” around the spots in all different directions, and some random lines in between.

*The good thing about leopard is it’s no set design, the spots are uneven, the outline of the spots are never exact. The best thing to do is to pull up a picture on google images of a leopard print, and use it for a guide when you are doing your spots.

There you have it, now here is my sparkly leopard print:

NOTD 53 – Feathered Lizard

By now I am sure that everyone is sick of seeing the Spiderman swatches especially the most popular one, “Just Spotted a Lizard” BUT I this was the color that I wanted to pair most with the polka-dotted feathers that I got a while back 🙂

Here is a little tutorial on how to achieve this look:

Step 1: Base Coat

Step 2: Paint two -3 coats of color on all nails (with th exception of the nails that you want to feather) *If you paint three, paint two on the nails you want to feather, and if you paint two paint one on the nails you want to feather. (you do this so that the last coat will be wet when you do the feathering.

Step 3: Paint your top coat (SV is my choice of course) on all nails except the ones you want to feather.

Step 4: One at a time, paint a thin coat of your color on your nail and then quickly lay the feather over the nail in whichever way you would like it designed.

Step 5: Gently press the feather down with either a flat brush, or your nail. Then cut the excess off.

Step 6: Once ALL Excess is cut off paint your top coat. (you may need 2 coats of to coat)

*Depending on the feather once you trim it and lay the top coat, it may try to peel. Be patient and continue to gently hold it down. Especially if you use SV top coat it will stay down shortly.

Step 7: Apply your 2nd top coat and voila!

Nail Files: Bare All Tag NOTD 48

Lindz from girlintheglasses, came up with a Bare All Tag. Check out her original post and mine below. Many of us love our pretty polished fingers, me included, but what about the natural nails that lurk beneath the enamel?  They just don’t get much attention unless we’re prepping them for yet another coat of a lovely lacquer of our choice.  I feel it’s time to strip the polish and bare all in a show of solidarity ladies!  At least long enough to snap a photo and answer a few questions, I’m not a monster after all.  So please join me, show your naturally beautiful nails and share some information about them and the products you prefer to pamper them with.”  Take part in the Bare All Tag if you would like to, everyone has been tagged, so go for it 🙂
