The Lacquer Ring – Red

I am not sure who picked this month, however with the color and the next theme in two weeks I am thinking it was me, you’ll see why. Either way this month (as always) we have great colors and themes in store. Check out how #TLR does red!

My husband was so sweet and bought me the Ciate advent calendar for Christmas this year. I had so much fun opening it up each day, he gave it to me early so that I had a present each day of the month! For this look I am using one of the Ciate’s I got called hutch, I love how hookery this red is. lol I also used Pretty Serious’s Viscous Vampire.

Don and I have been watching Supernatural on Netflix lately… with the name of the Pretty Serious color I chose, I call this mani ‘My Bloody Valentine’ after the name of the episode we just watched 😉

I painted two thin coats of Hutch and then painted Viscous Vampire as a gradient on the tips

This second pic is more accurate of how it looks in person, sometimes the lighting is just so hard to get with some of these polishes! I do like however in the first pic how you get the different shades of the glitters. Pretty Serious website description states there are both red and fuscia in there 😉

Well there you have my red mani just in time for Valentine’s Day! Check out the rest of the TLR girls for their manis!

NOTD 112 – Love Mani

Today I have a mushy love mani for you. Some people are anti-Valentine’s Day, some people get overly mushy, and some people are just in the middle. I am more in the middle, I have been married for 9 years now and Valentine’s Day is special don’t get me wrong, but as cheesy as it may sound, every day is Valentine’s Day. Okay, maybe not every day, but we try to make life special every day, our relationship special every day, so I am more of an in the middle kind of gal when it comes to the actual Valentine’s Day. We went out to dinner and a movie last week, (Not going ON the day, too crazy, and we figured that this weekend would also be insane). We saw Warm Bodies and went to a Hibachi Steak and Seafood grill, which was delish!

I call this a mushy mani as I took out every love, heart, rose, etc. stamp that I had for todays nails. lol 🙂

I started out by painting three coats of “e.l.f. – pearl pink” This is a very light and subtle shimmery, pearly pink.

My thumb, I used Stamp OB-M I dotted two of the roses with “Zoya – Suri” and the last one with “China Glaze – Adventure Red-y” and the stems and leaves I dotted with “Ulta – Envy”. I also took two hearts from stamp “SE-20” off of the xoxo stamp to add to the side of the roses.

My ring finger, I used the stamp “SE-21” I put a dot of “Suri” in the middle and outlined it with “Adventure Red-y”

For my pinky I used the same stamp from “OB-M” I finished off all of the roses with a little glitter “Milani – art of silver”, I don’t know if you have ever seen the glitter dusted roses, that is what I was going for.

I used the hearts stamp from “SE-21” on my pointer finger and where I placed it wasn’t center so the bottom part of my nail was exposed and looked odd… I re-stamped some more of the hearts from the same stamp in the red. The reflection spots in the stamp, I accentuated with the glitter.

I then used the ‘xoxo’ stamp from “SE-20” and put the xoxo in the red and the hearts in the purple. Once done, I then added two more hearts from same stamp in the red.

Here is the final look.

The other hand, I got lazy and it was getting late last night.. lol so I used the same base, but alternated the red and the purple on every other finger, using stamp “OB-M” the heart, again accented with the glitter.

NOTD 111 – Valentine’s Day Gradient

I have another Valentine’s Day themed mani for you.

I first painted two coats of “Ulta – Snow White”  Then I painted a gradient look using “Girls Rock – Pretty Girls Rock” glitter. As a final step, I used “Milani – white nail art” to make a tiny heart on my ring finger as an accent, all topped with “Seche Vite”

NOTD 110 – Featured Color Friday – Suri

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, so I will do a few Valentine’s themed nails. Today I started out by featuring Suri and turned it into the theme.

I got “Zoya – Suri” a few weeks ago during the ‘Zoya 3 promo’. I painted two thin coats of “OPI – Nail Envy” as my base, (which I am loving so far by the way!!), then two thin coats of “Zoya – Suri”. Once try, on both my ring and pointer fingers on both hands, I stamped using “Essie – No place like Chrome” and my “Cheeky Stamp -CH53” to stamp the beating hearts.

This purple is gorgeous, you can see especially in this picture the multiple facets to it, some blue and some pink very, very fine shimmer to make the purple pop even more.
