NOTD – Snow Much Fun

So the Wonderful State of New Jersey… really the East Coast is expecting another whopper of a Snow Storm today in to tomorrow… and when I say whopper I mean 8-10 or 10+ inches… or at least that’s what the weather people are saying. I hate watching the news with these types of things because each channel has a different ‘prediction’ one says 4-6 inches, one says 12+ inches, one says 8-10.. one channel says it’s going to start at Noon, another at 4, it’s just insanity.

I thought that (2c) KB Shimmer’s Snow Much Fun would be perfect for this occasion. I paired it overtop 2 thin coats of Revlon’s Coastal Surf.

So this gorgeous polish was a little gift from my Almost Birthday Twin Frosso! It’s jelly-like so that is why I paired it overtop Coastal Surf which was just about as perfect of a match as I think possible. It’s got all kinds of fun, glittery specs and even some snowflakes! The formula was really easy to work with, you did however have to really did for the snowflakes, at least in my bottle. How could you not love this polish though!

Well… As this is posting, the snow has already begun, and they said 1-2 inches per hour, so I will most likely be snowed in tomorrow! Woohoo Snow Day! (Hopefully!)

NOTD 178 – Featured Color Friday – Indie Hello Kitty

Woohoo It’s finally Friday! I feel like I am so behind this year, I have no decorations up, nothing wrapped, still a few people to buy for, etc. I am usually way more prepared by now. I think it’s that Thanksgiving was so much later, it’s totally throwing me off. I have been working on Saturdays for OT, this Sunday I have a party to go to, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday of next week I have things going on, along with Doctors, etc. mixed in to that, it’s just insane!

Anyway, enough about my crazy schedule and lack of preperation this year, on to this beautiful ILNP pretty that I have been telling you all so much about lately. This is Indie Go by I Love Nail Polish. It’s a gorgeous blue holo with mixed in blue sparkles and subtle color change.

This picture is a little blurry but you can just see the amazing holo/sparkle and slight color change! 🙂

I then stamped my Ice skating Hello Kitty and I took my Milani nail art bottles and filled in some of the stamp. I colored in her headband and scarf pink and added glitter to her skates and her headband for some sparkly detail. 🙂

Winter Nail/cuticle care

A while back I had done a post about OPI Nail Envy and still to this day, I am absolutely in love with it. It has done wonders for my nails! As you know, my sister came to visit last week and I used it on her nails. A week later, she is hooked too and can’t wait for her nails to be strong and grow like mine. We got to talking and she then asked how I care for my cuticles and it got me thinking to do this post. We all care for our nails/cuticles differently so I wanted to share how I will be caring for mine this Winter.

For one my hands tend to get very dry and sometimes even cracked in the winter months. The lotion I use to stop that and to keep my hands soft is by Miracle of Aloe and it’s called Miracle Hand Repair. This stuff is seriously amazing. You only need a little and it might feel thick at first but once you rub it in and it soaks in it works wonders!

The next products are what I use for cuticle care.

I use Sally Hansen’s gel cuticle remover and Revlon brand cuticle pusher. This cuticle gel and from what I know of others, most cuticle remover gels you need to leave on your cuticles for a few moments to soften them.

I then use the flat part of my pusher and push the cuticles back and the rounded part to clean up what I’ve pushed. Finally, but not always any other clean up I use my cuticle clippers for.

Finally, and hand in hand with my lotion I use cuticle oil. Usually I use the cuticle oil first and then apply lotion. I have one at home, my Julep rollerball applicator and at work I have Sally Hansen brush on. I apply the cuticle oil and rub in, I then apply my lotion and voila, smooth hands and cuticles.

Well there you have it, that is how I care for my hands/cuticles. I do this stuff more frequently during the winter months but all year, still care for them the same.

How will you be caring for your nails, hands, and cuticles this season?

Before I go,  I have a few items to give away that might help you 🙂
